Terms of Service

1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Mentions Tracker at mentions-tracker.com (the "Service"), operated by Kosten Aleksandr Viktorovich ("we", "us"). By creating an account, signing in, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
Mentions Tracker is a social listening tool that lets authenticated users search for public mentions of keywords on X and Threads. We retrieve public post data through official third-party APIs and display results in the web interface. The Service is read-only: we do not publish, reply to, or modify content on X or Threads on your behalf. Features, limits, and availability may change over time.
3. Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. Search requires sign-in via Google OAuth or a one-time email link. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your email secure. You must provide accurate information and notify us at support@mentions-tracker.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
4. Coins and billing
The Service uses an internal unit called coins to meter usage. New accounts receive a starting balance (currently 150 coins). Coins are deducted when you receive search results: for standard searches, one coin per post returned and shown to you, within your available balance and any applicable limits. For historical searches (when you request a count of matching posts before delivery), we charge two coins for the count step and two coins per post found at delivery, based on the quoted count you confirm before the search runs. Optional daily email digests of saved searches cost ten coins per email sent. Coin top-up and paid plans may be introduced later; current rates are shown in the Service interface. Coins have no cash value, are non-transferable, and are not refundable except where required by law. We may adjust pricing with reasonable notice.
5. Acceptable use
You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with these Terms, applicable law, and the terms and policies of X and Meta (including Threads). You must not: (a) use the Service to harass, defame, or violate the rights of others; (b) attempt to bypass access controls, rate limits, or security measures; (c) scrape, resell, or redistribute API results in bulk outside normal use of the Service; (d) use the Service for surveillance of individuals in violation of law; (e) submit searches that you are not authorized to perform. We may suspend or terminate access for violations.
6. Third-party platforms
Search results come from X and Meta Threads APIs. Your use of those platforms' data is also subject to their terms and developer policies. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services, API availability, accuracy of third-party data, or changes made by X or Meta. End users do not connect their own Threads or X accounts to perform searches; access to those APIs is operated on our backend under separate agreements with the platforms.
7. Availability and changes
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, API outages, rate limits, or platform policy changes may delay or prevent searches. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service with reasonable notice when practicable.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request deletion of your account data as described on our Data deletion page. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if continued provision of the Service becomes impractical. Provisions that by nature should survive termination (including limitations of liability) remain in effect.
9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We are not liable for decisions you make based on search results. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim (or zero if the Service was free). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business opportunity.
10. Intellectual property
We own the Service, its software, branding, and documentation, except for third-party content and trademarks. Public posts displayed in results remain subject to the rights of their authors and platforms. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose while your account is active.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data. It is incorporated into these Terms by reference and is available at /privacy on this website.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when the Service or legal requirements change. The current version is published on this page with the update date. Material changes may be communicated by email or a notice on the website. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Belarus, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction with mandatory local protections (including in the European Union), those protections apply to the extent they cannot be waived. Disputes should first be addressed to support@mentions-tracker.com; we will attempt to resolve them in good faith before other remedies.
