1. About the service

Mentions Tracker (mentions-tracker.com) is a social listening service for finding public brand and keyword mentions on X and Threads. This policy explains what data we process when you use the website and for what purposes.

2. Data controller

The controller of personal data is the operator of Mentions Tracker. For all privacy and data processing inquiries: support@mentions-tracker.com.

3. Data we process

When you sign in, we collect your email address and authentication metadata (sign-in provider, timestamps). We do not ask for a password. When you search, we process keywords and filter parameters (language, dates, author, result limits), and public post data from X and Threads APIs: text, post ID, username, publication date, engagement metrics, and URL. Technical data: IP address, user-agent, and request time — as needed to operate the service, maintain security, and prevent abuse.

4. Authentication

Search requires sign-in. You can use Google or a one-time magic link sent to your email. We store your email and authentication metadata in our database. We do not store passwords. Your name and profile image may be provided by Google OAuth and stored if you choose that sign-in method.

5. Purposes of processing

Search data is used to fulfill your query and display results. Technical data is used for security, diagnostics, and usage limits. Email is processed to create and manage your account, send sign-in links, and respond to requests. We do not use data for advertising profiling and do not sell it to third parties.

6. Data sources

You provide search parameters when submitting the form and your email when signing in. Public posts are obtained via official X and Meta Threads APIs. X and Threads access tokens are stored only on the application server and are never sent to the browser.

7. Third-party sharing

Search requests are sent to X (X Corp.) and Meta Threads (Meta Platforms) APIs. Website hosting and delivery are provided by Cloudflare. Magic-link emails are sent through our email provider solely for sign-in and service notifications. Data is shared only as necessary to operate the service or when required by law.

8. Retention

Search results are displayed in the interface and are not stored in a persistent database. Server logs are retained for a limited time for security and diagnostics. Email and account data are kept while your account is active; upon deletion, they are removed within a reasonable period, except where law requires retention.

9. Security

We apply organizational and technical measures: backend API isolation, server-side secret storage, restricted infrastructure access, and HTTPS. No method of internet transmission is completely secure; we follow commonly accepted security practices.

10. Your rights

Depending on applicable law (including GDPR), you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, or object to processing. Contact support@mentions-tracker.com. We will respond within legally required timeframes.

11. Children

The service is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect children's personal data. If you believe a child has provided us an email or other data, contact support@mentions-tracker.com and we will delete it.

12. Policy changes

We may update this policy when the service or legal requirements change. The current version is published on this page with the update date. We may additionally notify you by email or on the website about material changes.
